Roger Carroll and I recently realized a mutual love we both have for the music of Tom Waits, and when I told him I had about 30 of his songs transcribed his eyes lit up and this project (to-be-named) was born. This is our first time playing through the songs together and starting to work it out. It’ll be low key, but great in a way that I hope Waits himself would love. This is an opening for an Artspace exhibit at UTurn, and we’ll be playing background standards from 6-7pm, then a set of Waits songs from 7-8pm.
